I visited Nepal in September 2006 for the purpose of trekking in the Annapurna Sanctuary area. I was introduced to Clan Treks and Bishwa Chapagain by a mutual friend from the United Kingdom.
The level of service I received from Clan Treks was second to none, in fact a close friendship has developed as a result of the 10 days we spend trekking in the Sanctuary...

The Langtang Mountain, locally called Langtang Himal, is a region situated at the north part of the Kathmandu valley and just to the south of Tibetan border. Syabrubensi - the starting point of your trek. This is an interesting village on the banks of the Bhote Kosi River. The trail gains elevation as you make your way along the Langtang Khola, first through forests of oak and rhododendron and then bamboo forests on the higher reaches of the trail. The isolated Langtang valley- known as the ‘treasure house of Alpine plants’ is surrounded by high peaks of great appeal and is inhabited by Tamang whose religious practices, language and dress are much more similar to the Tibetan. Gosainkunda – the sacred lake is regarded as a major pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. The course from the Langtang valley to Gosainkunda is full of diversity and it is attracting many tourists.
Langtang Gosainkunda trek combines the remote and spectacular valley of Langtang, with the high mountain lakes at Gosainkunda. Crossing a famous pass of the region called Surya-kunda pass (4609m) you can drop into the lush green Helambu region and experience various cultural attractions and uniqueness. This trek, indeed a very rewarding trek in a less frequented area, makes you fortunate to cruise into the Langtang National Park having wonderful mountains views, renowned Trushuli River, a Sherpa village located at the very edge of the Shisapangma –the highest peak in this area and much more. In Kyanjin Gompa you will experience the spiritual lifestyle of dedicated Buddhist monks who perform their rituals in a beautiful Monastery dating back to circa 1300 A.D. Oak and rhododendron forests and even glacial moraine on the way to the Tamang village of Langtang is genuinely a once-in-a-lifetime experience for trekkers and visitors.

Modern dentistry is unknown in the hills of Nepal, so it is advised to have a checkup before departure from home. Tooth fillings sometimes loosen in cold temperature and at high altitudes, so it is recommended having them checked

Altitude sickness often known as Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is particularly an important medical consideration while trekking in Nepal. Altitude sickness means the effect of altitude on those who ascend too rapidly to elevation above 3000 meters. The initial symptoms of AMS are as follows:
