Client Testimonials

I visited Nepal in September 2006 for the purpose of trekking in the Annapurna Sanctuary area. I was introduced to Clan Treks and Bishwa Chapagain by a mutual friend from the United Kingdom.

The level of service I received from Clan Treks was second to none, in fact a close friendship has developed as a result of the 10 days we spend trekking in the Sanctuary...

13 days Biking Tour

Day 01. KATHMANDU – BESISAHAR (760m): After breakfast, you will be driven for 6 hours to Besisahar. Commence your mountainbiking trip right here. Upon riding to Khudi you'll observe one of the most beautiful villages, streams, rivers and paddy fields. Overnight stay will be at Lodge at Khudi.
Day 02. KHUDI – JAGAT (1300m): Freewheeling your bike on the way to Jagat you will come across a cantilever bridge followed by a suspension bridge as well as a few small settlements built of rocks. Almost all the cycling track here undulates along the river.
Day 03. JAGAT – DANQUE (2220m): Upon leaving Jagat you will head towards Manang district which sees many Bhotia people. Cycle further to Danque, which is a big and flat village having apple farms and enables you to observe beautiful mountain views.
Day 04. DANQUE – PISANG (3200m): Today you will continue your ride in an unrelenting narrow valley of pine, hemlock and cypress forest. The trail through a serene forest leads you to lower Pisang where men here are traders – and sell or trade almost anything - and part-time farmers, and the women are full-time farmers. Overnight stay is made at lower pisang.
Day 05. PISANG – MANANG (3540m): Today your bike will get a good speed because of a flat section. The trail converges in the large and interesting village of Braga, which is the site of the oldest monastery in the area. The Gompa is about 900 years old and belongs to the Kargyupa sect of Tibetan Buddhism, and contains some unique works of art. In the end of the day you will be in Manang, the place having cultural display of Sherpa and Gurung people.
Day 06. MANANG (3540m): Today is acclimatization day, which is best spent being active and climbing to higher elevations for views but returning to lower altitudes to sleep. Manang itself is in a spectacular location with many attractions. There are lakes, caves, moraine-hills, monasteries or local activities in town.
Day 07. MANANG – THORUNG PHEDI (4420m): Today you will gain altitude gradually, and spend the night at the Phedi, meaning 'foot of a hill'. Leaving the Marshyangdi River you will be at the hilltop. If you are lucky enough, you may spot a snow leopard near by here at dusk! It’s a base camp for crossing the Thorung-La Pass.
Day 08. THORUNG PHEDI – THORUNG-LA (5416m) - MUKTINATH (3800m): The cycling trail now leaves the river valley and climbs steadily over lateral moraine. The pass, marked by a large cairn, is the high point of your trip. It is an exhilarating geographical feature dividing 2 mighty Himalayan valleys. Far below to the west is the Kaligandaki River. You descend in that direction for the village of Muktinath, located in a poplar grove. It is a sacred shrine and pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists.
Day 09. MUKTINATH – GHASA: Now your bike will be heading towards Kagbeni and then the trail follows through a deserted and isolated land. After breakfast, the ride descends gradually through the fields and popular groves, and then cycling through the flat sandy area along the Kali Gandaki riverside the route follows the valley southwards to Jomson, the administration headquarter of Mustang. From here the ride continues down to Tukuche, a lovely village with white washed houses and fertile fields. Now freewheel down through coniferous forest and returning to the main river valley and finally into the village of Ghasa.
Day 10. GHASA – BENI: The trail to Beni is an easy way which follows the river through a narrow gorge and descends to cross a bridge near a spectacular waterfall, before winding through the valley to Tatopani. The hot springs that give the village its name provide the perfect opportunity for a good scrub. ‘Totopani’ meaning hot water holds religious significance as well as is a form of traditional natural remedy.
Day 11. BENI – BIRETHANTI: Today you will ride downhill and through the small valley to Nayapool passing some typical Gurung villages along the Modi river the trail follows the main street of Birethanti.
