The rough and wild Siklish Trek, located at the northeast of Pokhara, at about 2000 meters, cuts through less traveled area of the country in the shadow of Annapurna II and Lumjung Himal. The Gurung village of Siklish has been established by the Annapurna Conservation Area Project as a model trekking village and is an integral part of their eco-route. It is possibly the second largest Gurung village in Nepal which is a well-preserved example of traditional Gurung culture. However, trekker can easily spend several days experiencing local life-style, handicraft production and sightseeing. Of particular interest are the local cloth weaving and the ancient water driven flour mills. The Rishing Danda above the village gives us the prefect location to have a marvelous panoramic view of the Annapurna range like Mt. Annupurna, Mt. Lamjung Himal, Mt. Gangapurna Himal. This is also a famous place as a point to see the avalanches in action thundering down off the mountain sides.
Good mountain views and rough terrain is the specialty of Siklish trek. The local people are unaccustomed to trekkers in these areas. Siklish trek is a spectacular short trek and traverses a variety of terrain from low land villages and rice terraces up to 3,000 meter.
