I visited Nepal in September 2006 for the purpose of trekking in the Annapurna Sanctuary area. I was introduced to Clan Treks and Bishwa Chapagain by a mutual friend from the United Kingdom.
The level of service I received from Clan Treks was second to none, in fact a close friendship has developed as a result of the 10 days we spend trekking in the Sanctuary...

Trek grades & fitness of each trek has been given a grade based on the level of difficulty to be encountered and we recommend you to take this system as a guide only. Please remember that you should judge your own fitness, ability, mental and physical stamina. Please bear in mind that most treks are always long, hard and taxing. That is the nature of all the treks in the Himalayas. We never rush through the program; the experience is what it is all about. To help you select a trek we have given each trek a grade: Easy, Minimal, Relatively Difficult and Strenuous Difficult.
To help you choose which trek is best for you please contact us for further information.
Grade 1 – Easy
Since all our scenic tours and jungle safaris are included in this grade, the physical fitness is not that highly required. The tour will be in well-paved roads and includes some ups and downs.
Grade 2 – Minimal
Easy trekking, by Himalayan standards is generally between 900m/3,000ft. and 3,000m/6,500ft. There are always plenty of 'ups and downs' anywhere in the Himalaya and clients need to be regular walkers to get full enjoyment from their experience. It is possible however to design 'easier' three to four day treks with perhaps only three to four hours walking per day on request. Suitable for anyone who is used to walk on weekends or so, no previous trekking experience required.
Grade 3 – Relatively Difficult
Reasonably demanding trekking at altitudes up to 4,000m/13,000ft with side trips to higher elevations. Some treks included here will, in part, be well away from villages on ill- defined mountain trails.
Grade 4 - Strenuous & Difficult
Treks of a demanding nature, requiring all participants to be fit and in excellent health, often in remote alpine areas and sometimes reaching altitudes in excess of 5000m /18,000ft. Participants should have at least a basic knowledge of use of crampons and ice axes.
